I've been sewing since I was in high school. I enjoyed the challenge of sewing and always loved making very detailed items.
I've made many wedding dresses over the years, as well as working for the theatre and ballet company making costumes.
Also, for many years my father was an Elvis impersonator. I made all 9 of his incredibly and ridiculously ornate costumes.

I sold a Voodoo Queen doll on Feb. 29, 2012 that was used in a movie 'Now You See Me', and it was released June 7, 2013.
It stars Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Michael Cain, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, etc.

One of my rabbit dolls was purchased and used in a music video for Halo Circus, directed by Mazik Saevitz.
This was VERY exciting!!
The lead singer, Allison Iraheta, was on season 8 of American Idol. She came in 4th place.
The video finally came out on November 22, 2015.

My doll also matches the dancer. It was a lot of fun to make the costume for the doll.

And I've made items for two TV commercials.

My doll career got it's start in 2001 when I went on vacation to New England to visit a friend for a week.
We visited many of the primitive shops and I fell in love with the primitive dolls.

There were no primitive shops here in South Carolina. The south wasn't ready for such things yet.
But that didn't stop me from making them when I got home. I was busting with my own ideas.

And since my first dolls were so ugly, I had the perfect name for my little doll business....The Catt's Ugly Babies.

I spent many years selling them on eBay, and then I came here to Etsy.
I no longer sell on any other venue. All of my items are sold exclusively on Etsy.

As I became more experienced in doll making, my dolls evolved. My dolls took on a much darker theme, which is actually fun to do.
They started off being primitive, but over the years I discovered new techniques. Even though I still make primitives once in a while, I love a more polished look these days.
I'm still enjoying the different ideas I can come up with.

Tom and I live way out in the woods and we're surrounded by lots of wildlife on a daily basis. So, we enjoy buying big 50 pound sacks of grains and feed for them.
Instead of tossing those Polypropylene bags into the garbage and landfill, I make them into very useful market totes. They're great for holding groceries when we shop, instead of bringing home all of those plastic bags.
Our bags last for years. And if they'll hold 50 pounds of grain, they'll hold all the groceries with ease.

Over the years I began to make my own line of dark humor greeting cards called HallDark© Greeting Cards.

As time went on I began offering my hand crocheted cowls, scarves, and hooded scarves.
I also offer craft and sewing supplies.

My husband Tom also comes up with great ideas for dolls.
He helps me so much with so many things that we recently decided to change our shop name to TomCatt Creations.

We also make TomCatt Organic Bird Suet. It's available for purchase in our shop.
We use our own recipe and we try to have our suet year round.
